1. What Aharn is

Aharn is a personal nutrition journal for iPhone. It lets you log meals by photo, barcode or search and tracks calories, macronutrients and weight. Aharn works without an account: your diary, goals and profile are stored on your device, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

2. Health notice — not medical advice

Aharn is a general wellness tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.

Calorie and macro values in the app — including those produced by AI photo recognition — are estimates, not lab measurements. Always confirm the match and portion before you log, and consult a qualified health professional before making significant changes to your diet, weight or exercise.

3. Subscriptions

Aharn Pro is available as an auto-renewing subscription with two billing options: weekly ($2.99) and yearly ($29.99). Both plans and the free version are managed entirely by Apple under your Apple ID.

• Account-level purchases are handled by Apple; we never see or store your payment details. We verify entitlement status through RevenueCat.
• The 7-day free trial (if Apple confirms you are eligible for one) converts into the plan you picked unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Cancel or change plans any time in App Store → your profile → Subscriptions. After cancelling, you keep Pro until the end of the paid period, then return to the free plan.
• Refunds, if any are due, are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies.

4. Free version and free-scan limits

The free version includes 3 photo scans per day, forever, alongside barcode scanning, search and Apple Health sync. Scan limits are enforced using a random app-install ID generated on your device — never your identity. The free version is supported by advertising (see our privacy policy for details and your Apple tracking choices).

5. AI food recognition and third-party services

When you scan a meal photo, the image is processed (as described in our privacy policy) by AI providers — Google Gemini, with OpenAI as a fallback — to identify the dish and estimate its nutrition. Barcode lookups fetch product data from Open Food Facts. Our backend runs on Google Firebase, and purchase status is verified through RevenueCat. You use any such service subject to the provider’s own terms.

Recognition coverage is continuously growing. If a dish is missing or mismatches, you can correct it in the app or request a dish for the library. We may change or improve recognition at any time.

6. Acceptable use

When using Aharn, you agree not to:

• circumvent free-scan limits, entitlement checks or app integrity measures;
• interfere with our backend, or probe it beyond what the app itself does;
• upload photos of other people or of anything that is not your own meal;
• reverse engineer, resell, sublicense or redistribute the app; or
• use the app anywhere it violates applicable law.

7. Your content

Your diary, photos and profile remain yours and stay on your device. You grant us no rights other than the temporary processing needed to return the result you asked for. You are responsible for the photos and entries you choose to scan or keep.

8. Intellectual property

The Aharn app, its name, design, dish library and marketing materials are owned by Sai Tawng Pha and protected by intellectual property law. Apple and Google own their respective marks and services. Nothing here transfers your diary data to us or to Apple.

9. Termination

You can stop using Aharn at any time by deleting the app, which removes your local diary. We may suspend access if you seriously breach these Terms, for example by abusing the free-scan limits or our backend. Where not required by law, subscription time already paid is not refunded in that case.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Aharn is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not stated here, including uninterrupted availability and perfect recognition accuracy. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or data. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months, or USD 50 if you used only the free version.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any statutory consumer rights that cannot be excluded, including rights you hold in the EU, the UK, Thailand or under Apple’s own terms of service.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Thailand, without prejudice to mandatory local consumer-protection rules that apply where you live.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. The current version is always posted at this address with a new effective date, and material changes are notified in the app before they take effect.
